Cameras and recording
We use Axis cameras recording to Axis Camera Station Pro, on a dedicated recording server or a Synology storage unit. Cameras run on their own network, powered by PoE switches, so they don't share a network with your computers.
Storage sized for retention
Every camera writes a certain amount of video each day, and the number of days you keep is simply storage divided by that daily amount. A site writing 500 GB a day needs about 45 TB to keep 90 days.
We have found systems set to keep 90 days that were really keeping 42, because cameras were added after the storage was bought. We check the real daily write rate and size storage, or add it, to match.
Licences and access
We handle Axis licensing, user permissions and remote viewing for the people who need it.
